The short version: Bumper Boat Bonanza does not collect, sell or share your personal information. It has no accounts, no ads, no analytics, no tracking and no chat. Your name, settings and progress stay on your device. When you play online, our server passes game messages between the players in your room and does not keep them.
This policy explains how the Bumper Boat Bonanza game (“the game”) for iPhone, iPad and Android, and the website bumperboatbonanza.com, handle information. They are made by Family Splash Studios (“we”, “us”).
Information that stays on your device
The game saves the following on your phone or tablet only:
- the name you type in for your captain
- your chosen racer, boat paint and crew
- your settings (sound, music, motion and controls)
- your progress, best times and time-trial ghosts
- the last online server address you used
We never receive this information. Deleting the game deletes it.
Playing with friends on the same Wi-Fi
When you host or join a game on your home network, the game uses your device’s local network to find nearby games and to exchange game messages with the other players’ devices. Your device may ask for permission to find devices on your local network. These messages go directly between devices on your network and never reach us.
Playing online with a room code
Online games go through a relay server that we run. The relay forwards game messages between the host’s device and the players who joined with the room code. Those messages contain what the game needs to play together: each player’s name, racer and boat choices, controls and boat positions.
- The relay forwards messages in real time. It does not read, save or analyze their contents.
- Like any internet service, the relay has to use your device’s IP address to send messages back to it. We do not log or store IP addresses.
- The relay keeps a short record of each room: the room code, how long it was open, how many players joined and how much data went through. We use these records to keep the service running. They contain nothing that identifies you.
- A room closes about 30 seconds after the host leaves. Its code then stops working.
Other players in your game can see the name you typed for your captain. To stay anonymous, use a nickname rather than your real name.
What we don’t do
- We don’t require an account, email address or phone number.
- We don’t show ads or use advertising identifiers.
- We don’t use analytics, crash reporting or tracking services.
- We don’t sell or share personal information, and we don’t track you across other apps or websites.
- We don’t use your location, camera, microphone, contacts or photos.
Children
The game is made for the whole family. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. The only personal detail a player may enter is the name typed for their captain. That name stays on the device and is shown only to the other players in the same game. Parents who have questions can email us at the address below.
This website
bumperboatbonanza.com uses no cookies, analytics, ads or third-party scripts, fonts or embeds. Our web server does not keep access logs.
Purchases
The game currently has no purchases. If we add any, the App Store or Google Play will handle the payment. We would never see your payment details, and we will update this policy before any purchases launch.
Security
Because we don’t store personal information, there is very little to protect. We keep our servers updated and allow only the network traffic the game needs.
Changes to this policy
If the game starts handling information differently, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
