Playing with friends

How do I play with my family on the same Wi-Fi?

Make sure everyone is on the same Wi-Fi network. One person taps PLAY WITH FRIENDS and hosts. Everyone else taps PLAY WITH FRIENDS, picks the host’s game from the list and taps I’M READY. The host chooses the mode and track, then starts the match. Up to 8 players can join.

How do I play online with friends somewhere else?

The host taps PLAY WITH FRIENDS → ONLINE → HOST ONLINE. A six-character room code appears at the top of the lobby, for example KQ7 4MX. Friends tap PLAY WITH FRIENDS → ONLINE → JOIN WITH CODE and type it in. Capitals, spaces and dashes don’t matter.

It says “No online party with code …”
  • Check the code with your host. The game never uses the letters O or I or the numbers 0 or 1, so those always mean something else.
  • Make sure the host is still in the lobby. A room closes shortly after the host leaves or closes the game, and its code stops working.
  • If the host started over, they have a new code.
I can’t see my family’s game on the Wi-Fi list
  • Check that both devices are on the same Wi-Fi network and not on mobile data or a guest network. Many guest networks block devices from seeing each other.
  • On iPhone and iPad, go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network and turn on Bumper Boat Bonanza.
  • Still stuck? Use ONLINE with a room code instead. It works on any network.
My boat feels laggy online

Online games run on the host’s device, so everyone’s connection to it matters. Here are some ways to help:

  • Let the player with the strongest connection host.
  • Move closer to your Wi-Fi router, or switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data.
  • Close streaming or downloading apps while you play.

If you switch networks during a match, the game reconnects you to your own boat.

What happens if the host leaves?

The match ends for everyone, just like on Wi-Fi. Someone can host a new game, and the rest of you can join with the new code.

Playing

How do the controls work?
  • Steer: drag anywhere on the left side of the screen.
  • Boost: tap the gold arrows on the right. Up boosts forward, down reverses, and left and right dodge sideways to bump rivals. Boosts share one charge that refills on its own.
  • Rocket start: hold boost during the race countdown.
  • Hoses (battle): hold FRONT or SIDE to spray. Let go to refill the tank.
  • Fell off the track? You’re put back on automatically, or tap RESET.
Can I play without the internet?

Yes. Races, Grand Prix cups, time trials and battles against computer captains all work offline. Wi-Fi games with family only need a shared network, not the internet.

How do I change my name or boat colours?

Tap CREW & BOAT on the home dock to change your name, captain and boat paint. You can also change your racer and paint in the racer picker before a race. Your choices are saved on your device.

How do I turn off the sound or music?

Open SETTINGS from the home dock, or pause during a match. Sound, music and motion settings are saved for next time.

Your data

Do I need an account? Does the game collect my information?

No account is needed, and the game has no ads, tracking or chat. Your name and progress stay on your device. See our privacy policy for details.

How do I reset my progress?

Delete the game and install it again. Your progress is stored only on your device, so we can’t restore or reset it for you.
